Car Insurance Chrysler (Car Insurance). where is the timing mark on the porsche 944 crank gear?

where is the timing mark on the porsche 944 crank gear?

look behind the intake manifold at the back of the engine. take a light and shine it to the bottom and you will see a little opening in the bell housing that contains the flywheel. there should be a little groove or paint mark on the fly wheel when the engine reaches top dead center after turning the crank from the front of the engine. its easier with two people, but once you find it the first time, i would mark a little notch on the cam gear so its easier to find next time. I am not sure I remember correctly, but I believe it is through a port in the bellhousing, on the flywheel.

Chrysler . financing a car advice?

financing a car advice? ok so im lookin at buying a 2009 Mitsubishi Galant ES, its a very nice car and the its going for $9,777, only 41k miles on it, and clean carfax/autocheck. so ya. ok i have to finance it. i want to do it threw the bank but also dont want to pass up the dealer financing either if its better. so i filled out a online Applicatoin for the dealer financing for the car, thinking it was the Application for Pre-Approval, meaning i would be already approved for the financing blah blah. anyway...i noticed its jsut a application for financing..does this mean if it gets approved i have to take the car? or am i still good i can still take it with my bank. cause i dont want to get cornhold into dealer financing. idk its my first car im buying from a dealer. also after doing the applicatoin thing...i started really reading reviews on the dealer itself "Bronx Suzuki" ok so the first few i read through where ok..but then it like hit a wall. it was alot of stuff that i dont want to happen to me like...forgery, a lady who says she works for the company but weeks after you buy the car you still dont have the bill of sale or title and when you call the dealer they say that lady doesnt work there. i dont know im really paranoid about it. and i jsut want things to go smoothly and i rather not have someone ruin my so far perfect credit. even if i get approved for the financing of the car, and i dont take the car, they cant do anything with the financing right? i didnt give them any of my important info like my SS# or anything to important. pretty much general info for when you inquire about a car + gross monthly income(which is nothing) car insurance.

Chrysler . How to Replace Ball Joints in a 2005 Dodge Dakota

The Dodge Dakota uses two control arms on each wheel of the front suspension, each with its own ball joint. The joints need changing if they have worn down and are now loose in the control arm. The upper ball joint cannot be removed from its control arm, so you must replace the entire control arm. The lower joint can be separated from the joint, but it requires special tools or a professional.
Difficulty:Challenging
Instructions Things You'll Need
Jack
Jack stands
Tire iron
Wrench
Cutting pliers
Ball joint separator
Paint
Small brush
Press tool and receiver cupUpper Ball Joint/Control Arm

Step by Step :
1
Raise the truck and support it on jack stands; place the stands underneath the frame rails. Remove the wheel for the control arm you are removing.
2
Loosen the upper ball joint's stud nut without removing it--use a flare nut wrench if possible--and then pry the ball joint off of the steering knuckle using a ball joint removal tool.
3
Remove the mounting fasteners for the control arm by removing their nuts and then pull the arm away from the frame brackets. Take note that the fastener studs both point in the same direction.
4
Connect the replacement control arm to the frame brackets and apply the fasteners, making sure the bolts point in the same direction as before. Do not tighten the bolts all the way yet.
5
Connect the ball joint to the steering knuckle and tighten the upper stud nut to 55 foot pounds.
6
Re-connect the wheel and tire and lower the truck. Once it is back at its normal ride height, tighten the pivot bolt nuts to 75 foot pounds.
Lower Ball Joint

Step by Step :
1
Raise and support the truck like you would for an upper control arm removal and remove the wheel.
2
Unbolt and remove the brake caliper and its mounting bracket from the brake disc using a wrench and then slip the disc off the studs. If the disc is held in place with pressed washers, clip them off with cutting pliers.
3
Raise a floor jack under the lower control arm at the outer end to support it and then separate the control arm from the stabilizer link by removing its link nut.
4
Paint marks to show the relationship between the control arm's mounting bolts and the frame, remove the bolts and pull the arm from the brackets. Separate the ball joint from the steering knuckle as described for the upper control arm.
5
Press the ball joint out of the control arm using a special press tool and receiver cup. This type of tool can often be rented from an equipment yard.
6
Install the replacement ball joint into the control arm using the same tool you removed it with.
7
Connect the control arm in the reverse order that you disconnected it. As with the upper arm, don't tighten the pivot bolt nuts until after you lower the truck back to normal riding height. Tighten those bolts to 180 foot pounds.
Tips & Warnings
Avoid using a picklefork-style ball joint separator if possible, as this type will likely destroy the ball joint boot.

Chrysler . How to Remove Pressed Ball Joints

A ball joint is part of your suspension and consists of a spherical ball and rod that are pressed into a socket. Over time, ball joints may wear and become loose. If a ball joint fails completely the entire suspension can collapse, resulting in a loss of vehicle control, so it's important to replace bad ball joints as soon as possible. Removing the ball joint requires the use of a device called a ball joint press.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Floor jack
Socket set
Ratchet
Jack stand
Hexagonal wrench set
Zip-tie
Needle-nosed pliers
Ball joint separator
Hammer
Ball joint press kit
Breaker bar

Step by Step :
1
Raise the vehicle by positioning the floor jack under a jack point beneath the front or rear of the car and then raising the floor jack until the bottom of the desired tire lifts off of the ground.
2
Use the appropriate socket and ratchet to loosen and remove the the lug nuts. Once the lug nuts have been taken off, remove the tire to access the brakes and suspension.
3
Position the jack stand underneath the lower control arm and raise the jack stand so that the control arm rests on it firmly. This will prevent the suspension spring from getting loose when you remove the ball joint mounting bolt. Leave this jack stand in place until the new ball joint has been installed and the mounting bolt has been replaced.
4
Remove the bolts that hold the brake calipers in place with a hexagonal wrench. Loosen the brake calipers and secure the caliper to the coil spring with a plastic tie to keep it out of the way. The brake fluid line may be attached to one of the vehicle's struts; if this is the case, undo the clasp and set the line aside.
5
Remove the cotter pin from the ball joint mounting bolt with a pair of needle-nosed pliers., then remove the mounting bolt from the ball joint with the appropriately-sized ratchet. Dispose of the old cotter pin, as your new ball joint should come with a new pin. Place the second floor jack under the control arm to support it and keep it there until the new ball joint is installed.
6
Wedge the ends of the ball joint separator (also called a pickle fork) between the ball joint and the steering knuckle. Hit the opposite end of the ball joint separator with a hammer. This will cause the connection between the ball joint and steering knuckle to separate. You should now be able to see the ball joint sitting clearly in the lower control arm of your suspension.
7
Position the ball joint press, which resembles a large C-shaped clamp, over the ball joint as it sits in the control arm. The ball joint press comes with a variety of cups that should fit around the bottom of any ball joint, while the top part of the clamp presses the ball joint out of the socket. Place the appropriately-sized cup on the bottom of the ball joint press and finger-tighten the clamp down onto the ball joint.
8
Tighten the ball joint press with a 1/2-inch socket and ratchet until the ball joint is forced out the bottom of the control arm. The will require considerable force that can be more easily achieved with the application of a breaker bar, which will increase the amount of torque applied to the ratchet.

Changing Your Oil In This Chapter &• Keeping your engine running smoothly with clean oil ^ Knowing what kind of oil to buy and whether you need additives fr- Deciding how often to change your oil ^ Changing your oil and oil filter !• Recycling your old oil and filter M My hen people think about the good life, they tend to think in terms of WW freedom from pressure, discomfort, and friction. When you consider that the temperature in your vehicle's combustion chambers can get as high as 4,500 degrees Fahrenheit, with high pressures, the shock of combustion, and many metal parts rubbing and grinding against one another, you can see that a vehicle that is not ade quately protected against heat and friction will swiftly come to an untimely 732 Car Insurance 2004 lexus rx 299095

death. Luckily, this kind of protection is cheap and easy to ensure. It's a simple matter of providing sufficient lubrication to keep things running smoothly and then making sure that your vehicle gets regular attention. Changing the oil is the most essential thing you can do to give your car a long and happy life. This chapter tells you how to choose the right kind of oil for your vehicle, how frequently you should change the oil for maximum performance, and how to do the job quickly and easily. Hou) OH Benefits \lour Vehicle To choose the proper kind of oil, you should know what that oil is expected to do. When your car is at rest, the oil slops around quietly in a container located at the bottom of the crankcase, just below the engine (see Figure 15-1). This container is called the oil pan. When the car is running, oil is pumped by an oil pump through holes and channels in the engine, where the oil helps cool and clean the engine and provides a nice, slippery cushion that keeps moving parts from grinding one another into oblivion. The following sections explain in greater detail how oil benefits your vehicle. ">art'"" ^eeP'n9 ^our Car 'n Good Condition, System by System Figure 15-1: Oil is filtered as it circulates through the engine. Oil coals the engine

Because the oil pan is located below the engine, where the air that rushes past the moving car can cool it, the oil picks up some of the heat as it travels around inside the engine and then cools off when it circulates through the oil pan. Although this isn't enough to keep most engines sufficiently cool with out a cooling system, it helps. Oil keeps your engine clean Most engine oils contain some detergent, which helps flush out the muck that accumulates inside your engine. Not only does detergent remove and dis solve this old sludge; it also helps prevent new gobs of the stuff from forming. Believe me, you have no idea of the meaning of any of those yucky

words until you've looked into the engine of a vehicle that has not had its oil changed often enough. Masses of black slimy stuff, hunks of undefinable vile ness, and pebble-like particles cling to everything. It's hard to see how these engines function at all. Even more depressing are the all-too-visible signs of wear on steel parts that have been eroded away by this ugly stuff. If your car hasn't had its oil changed in at least 6,000 miles, you can consider the growls coming out of its engine to be cries of pain! Oil cuts down on friction By far the most important thing that the oil in your engine does is to form a cushion between moving parts to help them slide past one another easily.
